US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth mentioned his child in the press conference. He said that yesterday my 13 year old son asked me about the Iran war.

During this time, Hegseth also said that America is decisively winning the war against Iran, and its objectives in this conflict remain unchanged and focused on its goal. “We fight to win, and we are winning on our terms, consistent with our objectives,” Hegseth just said at a Pentagon briefing.

The Defense Secretary reported that since the war began, more than 7,000 targets have been struck across Iran and its military infrastructure.

What did the Defense Secretary say to his child?

Speaking at the press conference, Pete Hegseth said, “My 13-year-old asked me yesterday about the war. He asked about the American soldiers who died in this war. I told him they gave their lives for you. So that future generations don’t have to face an Iran with a nuclear bomb.”

‘We will get it done’

At the beginning and end of his briefing, Hegseth paid tribute to the Americans killed in the conflict and, at the behest of their grieving families, vowed to make it happen.

The Defense Secretary said that yesterday at Dover Air Force Base, he, Trump and General Kaine “stood in solemn silence as our heroes returned home.” The “flag-draped coffins” the Defense Secretary spoke of were those of six crew members who died when their KC-135 plane crashed in Iraq.

‘Don’t hesitate, don’t stop until the job is done’

Hegseth said at a news briefing, “We honored them, mourned with their families and listened to them. What I heard, amidst the tears, hugs, courage and unwavering determination, was the same thing from every family. They said, ‘Get it done, honor their sacrifice, don’t hesitate, don’t stop until the job is done.'”

He said, “We will accomplish this, we will honor their sacrifice. Their sacrifice makes our resolve stronger.”
