US President Donald Trump has expressed concern and warned after the attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field, the world’s largest natural gas reserve. Through a post on his social media platform Truth Social, he mentioned the attack by Israel and expressed concern over the situation after it, warning Iran not to carry out attacks in Qatar.
According to Trump, Israel, angered by recent events in the Middle East, attacked Iran’s major gas field South Pars, hitting only a small part of the field. He claimed that America had no knowledge of this particular attack. Besides, he also declared Qatar completely innocent in this matter and said that Qatar had no prior information about this attack.
Trump further wrote that unfortunately Iran did not know the whole truth, due to which it attacked an LNG facility in Qatar. He termed it unfair and unjust. He asked Iran to stop targeting the Qatar LNG facility, threatening to target Iran if it did not do so.
Most importantly, Trump clearly warned that Israel would not attack the South Pars gas field again unless Iran attacks Qatar. If Iran did this, the US, with or without Israel’s consent, would destroy the entire area of South Pars on such a powerful and massive scale that Iran would never have seen such devastation before.
Trump said that we do not want to cause this level of violence and destruction, because it will have a long-term impact on the future of Iran, but if Qatar’s LNG plant is attacked again, we will not hesitate to do so.
