Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and top commander Ali Larijani has been killed in an Israeli air strike. Iran has officially confirmed this and declared him a martyr. There is a wave of mourning throughout Iran due to Larijani’s death. The Iranian President has expressed deep sorrow over his death. A large number of common people have come out on the streets to mourn their leader. Shocked by Larijani’s death, Iran has made a big announcement.
Ali Larijani was killed along with his son Morteza Larijani, SNSC deputy Alireza Bayat and several security personnel in US-Israeli strikes in Tehran on Monday. Describing it as a major breakthrough, Israel confirmed that Larijani, considered Iran’s de facto leader after the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was targeted. Late last night, Iran confirmed Larijani’s death and gave him martyr status.
Now let the enemy wait for a big revenge
Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian expressed deep condolences, calling Larijani a virtuous, precious and beloved brother as well as an outstanding personality. He played many important roles and made extensive contributions in the service of the Islamic Republic. Giving a strong message, the President said, “A big revenge awaits the terrorist criminals who have stained their dirty hands with the blood of innocents.
Iranian President declared Larijani a martyr
President Pezeshkian, speaking on his relationship with Larijani in the Islamic Consultative Assembly and Larijani’s recent leadership on the Security Council, said he saw nothing but goodwill, deep insight, companionship and foresight in Larijani. The President said that it is difficult to replace such a personality. He further said that Larijani’s blood was shed by the most criminal regime in human history, yet finding a place among the figures of the revolution was his merit and this dear brother’s long-cherished wish.”
The President said Larijani did his best to expand peace and security in the region and to promote sympathy and strengthen brotherhood among Islamic nations. Parliament Speaker Mohammed Baqer Qalibaf also paid his tribute, saying such an end is a cloak that does not fit everyone. He described it as an art that distinguishes God’s servants – those who are true and steadfast in their promises – from others.
Iran made it clear that the martyr’s blood will be avenged with blood. In response to the incident, Iran launched massive ballistic missile attacks on Israel early Wednesday. Iranian state media Press TV announced the “61st wave of missile attacks”, calling it revenge for Larijani’s martyrdom. According to reports, the attacks caused massive destruction in central areas of Israel, including Tel Aviv, killing at least two people and causing damage in many places. However, some missiles were intercepted by Bahrain, Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
