US President Donald Trump threatened on Wednesday that he would “eliminate” what remains of the Iranian “terrorist” state. The President also took aim at America’s allies who are “not responding” amid the ongoing war between US-Israel and Iran.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump wrote, “I wonder what would happen if we ‘eliminated’ what remains of the Iranian terror state, and let the countries that use it, not us, take charge of the so-called ‘Strait’? That would blow up some of our ‘unresponsive’ allies, and fast!!!”
Trump also called Iran the “number one state sponsor of terrorism” and asserted that the US military was rapidly “putting it out of business.”
Trump’s attack on the “unresponsive” allies comes a day after he accused NATO allies of making a “stupid mistake” by not helping the US secure the Strait of Hormuz. This came after several NATO allies told the US that they did not want to join the US military campaign against Iran.
Responding to this stance of NATO allies, Trump said that America does not need anyone’s help. He said, “We will protect them, but they will do nothing for us, especially in our time of need… Due to the fact that we have had such great military success, we no longer ‘need’ or desire the help of NATO countries, we never had! Likewise, with Japan, Australia or South Korea. In fact, speaking as the President of the United States, which is the most powerful country anywhere in the world, we don’t need anyone’s help!”
