Tensions have risen further in the Middle East, where Iran and its ally group Hezbollah have stepped up large-scale attacks against Israel. According to media reports, Iran has launched at least 7 ballistic missile salvos towards Israel since midnight. These attacks are targeting different parts of Israel, especially the southern and central areas such as Negev, Eilat, Tel Aviv and other cities.
Israel’s air defense system tried to intercept most of the missiles, but some missile fragments or cluster munitions fell on the ground, setting vehicles on fire and damaging buildings. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed these attacks and said that they are continuously detecting missiles coming from Iran.
Along with this, Lebanon-based Iran-backed organization Hezbollah has also continued rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel. Due to Hezbollah attacks, sirens are ringing in the northern areas and people are hiding in bunkers. These attacks have increased the double challenge on Israel.
There were no immediate reports of injuries in central Israel following Iran’s new ballistic missile attack on Israel. This is the seventh attack since midnight. According to police, the missile had a cluster bomb warhead. An attack in the center of the city resulted in a cluster bomb shell or other fragments, damaging an apartment building.
The war began on February 28, when the US and Israel launched joint attacks on Iran, in which several senior officials, including Iran’s supreme leader, were killed. Since then, Iran and its proxy groups have been continuously retaliating. At the regional level, Gulf countries are also being attacked by Iran’s drones and missiles. Israel has launched retaliatory strikes in Iran and Lebanon, targeting thousands of military targets.
