In which countries have been given special permission (license) of 30 days to purchase Russian crude oil and petroleum products stranded in the sea. The decision is aimed at stabilizing the global oil market and controlling rapidly rising prices as international crude oil prices have soared above $100 per barrel—its highest level in nearly four years.
Actually, oil prices have increased very rapidly around the world. The price of crude oil has reached above $ 100 per barrel, which is the highest in the last several years. The main reason for this is the increasing conflict between America and Israel with Iran in the Middle East. This war has closed important waterways like the Strait of Hormuz, through which more than 20% of the world’s oil and gas passes.
Decision to control oil prices
After this decision of America, different countries will be able to buy Russian oil and petroleum products already loaded at sea. This oil was already on ships and was stuck due to sanctions. US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said that this decision has been taken to stabilize the global energy market and keep prices under control. He also made it clear that the Russian government will not benefit much from this, because it is only temporary and limited.
Russia has welcomed this decision. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that “stabilizing the market is not possible without significant volumes of Russian oil.” He further said that America is trying to stabilize the energy market and Russia’s interests in this matter are also linked to the same.
Peskov also said that America’s interest in peace talks in Ukraine will not diminish because of the Iran crisis. Russia is not worried about this.
