Speculation about the whereabouts of Khamenei in coma
Foreign media is also claiming that Mujtaba is in coma after being injured in US-Israeli air strikes. There are also reports that Mujtaba has lost one of his legs in the attack. Iranian Ambassador to Cyprus Alireza Salarian had earlier claimed that Mujtaba was injured in the February 28 airstrike that killed his father. The British newspaper ‘The Sun’ has also repeated these claims in its report. The newspaper even said that Khamenei is under the supervision of Iran’s Health and Education Minister Mohammad Reza Jafargandi in the hospital.
Khamenei did not appear in public
Mojtaba Khamenei has become the new Supreme Leader of Iran in place of his father Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran’s new supreme leader has not appeared in public since being elected on Sunday, March 8.
