Israel said on Tuesday it had attacked Iran’s leadership compound, calling it the regime’s most central and important headquarters.
“On the night (Monday), the Israeli Air Force, acting on precise intelligence, struck and destroyed facilities inside the Iranian terrorist regime’s leadership compound in the heart of Tehran,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.
“The Air Force, following precise guidance from military intelligence, attacked government security buildings inside the leadership complex of the Iranian terrorist government in the heart of Tehran at night,” the IDF said in a statement on X. In the attack on the complex, several munitions were dropped on the Presidential Office and the Supreme National Security Council building. In addition, the complex, where the government’s largest forum, which is responsible for making security-related decisions, gathers, was hit. The institution providing training to Iranian military officers and other valuable infrastructure was also attacked.
One of the most tightly guarded places
According to the IDF, this Iranian leadership complex is one of the most heavily guarded sites in Iran and spans several streets in the center of Tehran. Iranian government leaders and security personnel frequently gathered at the complex and from there managed, among other things, situational assessments on the Iranian nuclear program and plans to carry forward the destruction of the state of Israel. This complex served Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Iranian terrorist regime who was ousted, and stored the infrastructure used to manage attacks against the State of Israel, guide and fund the regime’s terrorist proxies.
The IDF said the complex was attacked after a lengthy process of intelligence gathering and investigation conducted by military intelligence. This is the most important and central command for the Iranian terrorist regime. Attacking it further disrupts the operational continuity of the government’s command and control system.
