Pakistan claims that India is preparing for another war. It is reported that the President of the neighboring country has given such indications in the Parliament. However, he has also appealed to maintain peace and dialogue. At present, there has been no response from India regarding this. The special thing is that this statement came at a time when tension continues between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Both the countries have launched many attacks on each other.
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said, ‘Indian leaders say they are preparing for another war. As a lifelong advocate of regional peace, I would not recommend this. However, soon after this his tone became stern. He added that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear power and understands its responsibilities, but also knows how to defend itself when needed.
Showed arrogance of having nuclear power
In his speech, Zardari tried to present Pakistan as a responsible nuclear state. He said that with such power comes great responsibility. But it also made it clear that if the situation arises, Pakistan is ready to face any challenge. Indian intelligence sources termed these statements as ‘political signals’ and ‘defensive posture’. According to sources, this statement may be an attempt to divert attention from the many domestic and regional crises going on within Pakistan.
Jammu and Kashmir also started singing
It is reported that Zardari has also mentioned Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that Pakistan will continue to extend its political and moral support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. According to him, until Kashmiris get freedom, no one in South Asia will be free and safe. On India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, the President said that this is straight ‘hydro terrorism’. He alleged that India is using water flow as a weapon to create political pressure.
War cry from Afghanistan
In his speech, Zardari also expressed concern over the situation in Afghanistan. Citing a United Nations report, he said that the presence of terrorist organizations operating in Afghanistan is a threat to regional and global security. He said Pakistan made diplomatic efforts to stop cross-border terrorist activities, but if needed, the country would take drastic measures for its security.
Zardari accused the Taliban administration in power in Kabul of not fulfilling the promises made under the Doha Agreement and said Afghan land should not be used to destabilize any neighboring country.
