Amidst the Iran-Israel war, there came an occasion when a standoff was seen between America and Britain. Donald Trump openly told the American media about this.
The US President has told the American media that he is very disappointed with Sir Keir Starmer. Trump said that Keir Starmer prevented him from using Diego Garcia to attack Iran.
In an exclusive interview, the US President said the Prime Minister’s initial refusal to allow US forces to use the Chagos Islands base was ‘something that had never happened before between our countries’.
Britain had refused American permission to attack from bases like Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford, citing international law. However, the Prime Minister agreed on Sunday night and said that he would allow US forces to reach Diego Garcia for specific and limited defensive purposes. However, Trump took a dig at this too. He said Sir Keir took too long to change his mind. She said, “This may have never happened before between our countries,” and “it seems he was worried about legality.”
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth talked about the big war going on in the Middle East. Hegseth said that “For 47 long years the regime in Iran has waged a brutal, one-sided war against the United States, forcing the US to take action almost half a century later.” He said, “We didn’t start this war, but under the leadership of President Trump, we are ending it. Trump has reminded the world that being an American means something that cannot be broken. If you kill Americans, if you threaten Americans anywhere on earth, we will go after you without apology and without hesitation, and we will kill you.”
