Debris from an intercepted drone caused damage to a complex in Abu Dhabi that houses the Israeli embassy and several other international missions, according to Abu Dhabi’s government media office. A woman and her child suffered minor injuries in this attack.

The media office says that after the drone was intercepted, its debris fell on the front of the Etihad Towers complex, causing loud noises to be heard across the emirate.

Loud explosions in Dubai and Qatar’s capital Doha

After the US and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday, Iran has attacked several civilian and commercial areas in Gulf cities, increasing the impact of the fighting on the main regional aviation and trade hub.

As the retaliatory attacks escalated today, they were echoed across the Gulf Arab states, with loud explosions heard in Dubai and Qatar’s capital Doha and the first strike in Oman.

Abu Dhabi International Airport also damaged

In Dubai, two people were injured when the drone was intercepted and its shrapnel fell on two houses, a statement from Dubai’s government media office said. Dubai’s international airport, its famous Burj Al Arab hotel and the man-made Palm Jumeirah island were all damaged overnight, and Abu Dhabi’s international airport was also damaged.

Oman’s government news agency says Duqm Commercial Port was targeted by two drones, injuring a worker.

Turkish President Erdogan called for diplomacy

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that diplomacy is “the best way forward” during a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

According to a statement from the Turkish presidential office, Erdogan warned after the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia that if no concrete steps were taken, the conflict could escalate “with serious consequences for both regional and global security.”
