Following Israel’s air strikes on Tehran, Israel, Iran, Dubai and Iraq closed their airspace, severely affecting air travel in many directions in the Middle East. Due to the attacks, the airport had to be closed, alarms suddenly started ringing at Dubai Airport, due to which the passengers got scared and started running outside. During this time, the National Guard took possession of the premises and advised passengers to remain inside the building. Within a few minutes all flights were stopped. After 2 hours the officials announced the cancellation of all flights. Due to this, connecting flights in Asia, Europe, America and Africa were affected.

Indian flights canceled at Dubai airport

The situation at Dubai airport is still bad after Iran fired missiles in response to US-backed attacks on Israel. This led to a temporary halt in the airspace of many countries in the Gulf region. Passengers who reached Dubai said that the situation here started worsening from 8 am in the morning. At present, passengers are being advised not to come to the airport.

Sanjeev Mehta stranded in Abu Dhabi said- ‘I had come for a friend’s party, but we got stuck. Alarm went off, missiles fell. The guards asked us to stay inside. All flights are suspended.

Will Vardhan of Chicago said, ‘I was going from Chennai to Chicago via Abu Dhabi. Now I am stuck. Bombing is going on, status of flight is not known.

Thousands of people including Indians stranded due to closure of airport

The UAE Defense Ministry announced that the attack was struck by Iranian ballistic missiles. The air defense system intercepted many missiles. Falling debris in a residential area caused damage and several civilians died. On the other hand, the airport administration made arrangements for food and water for the stranded passengers. Those who did not have a UAE visa were given a 10-day emergency transit visa. Currently, Indian workers living in Dubai were advised to return to India when the situation improves. The crisis is affecting the global aviation network, especially India as many Indian passengers are still stranded at airports.

According to Israeli media, Dubai administration immediately evacuated tourists and staff from this 828 meter high building. Burj Khalifa is a major tourist destination of Dubai, where millions of people come every year to see the panoramic views of the city and the Arabian Sea from the observation decks built on the 124th, 125th and 148th floors. Due to Iran’s attacks, the world’s busiest Dubai International Airport also had to be closed.
