Under the new decree, a husband can give physical punishment to his wife and children to the extent that a bone is broken or a wound is created. In this way, with one condition, now men in the country have been allowed to openly raise their hands on their wives.

Provided permission to raise hands on wives

In the 90-page black document of Taliban, the protective shields that Afghan women were enjoying have been snatched away. According to the Taliban’s new rule, a husband can give physical punishment to his wife and children, but there should not be broken bones and no open wounds.

Wounds have to be shown to get justice

Whereas women will have to show their wounds to the judge to get justice. Punishment will also be given when the woman is able to prove violence in the court. Even if a woman proves her crime after all the challenges, she will be jailed for a maximum of 15 days only.

not allowed to go to court alone

Know that this is the same country where it is mandatory for women to remain completely covered in front of the judge. Here, even if a woman tries to approach the court complaining of atrocities against her, she cannot go alone. According to law, a woman is allowed to go only with her husband or a male relative.

Jail for meeting relatives without husband’s permission

Apart from this, under the new law, a married woman cannot meet relatives without her husband’s permission. If she does this, she can be jailed for up to 3 months. Given the current restrictions, laws and social conditions, women’s rights activists believe that it has become almost impossible for women to access justice.

Maulvi will give punishment for serious crime

The new law also states that punishment for serious crimes will be given by the Maulvi. This new law has completely abolished the Elimination of Violence Against Women Act (EVAW Act) implemented in 2009, which was implemented by the previous government with the support of America.
