Britain’s disgraced former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of wrongdoing in public office. The special thing is that the Duke of York has been arrested on his 66th birthday.
“As part of the investigation, we have today arrested a 60-year-old man from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office,” police said in a statement.
Thames Valley Police released a statement, saying, “As part of the investigation, we have today arrested a man in his 60s from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office. We are currently carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The man remains in police custody. Meanwhile, Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said: “Following a thorough investigation, we have now opened an investigation into this allegation of misconduct in public office. We must protect the integrity and impartiality of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this alleged crime. We understand the great public interest in this case, and we will provide an update in due course.”
Thames Valley Police are also investigating allegations that Epstein allegedly sent a woman to the UK in 2010 for illicit affairs with the former Duke of York. It is believed that the woman in question is not British, and at that time she was around 20 years old. Her lawyer claimed that she was allegedly given tea and given a tour of Buckingham Palace. However, Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein and any allegations against him.
