Pakistan: ‘हिंदुओं के नाम पर शराब बेची जाती है…’, जब हिंदू MLA ने की शराबबंदी की मांग, तो मुस्लिम मंत्री ने जो कहा वो हो गया VIRAL

Pakistan news: Pakistan is a wonderful country, amazing incidents keep happening there from the Parliament to the playground. Many times leaders make such statements in Parliament, which become memes in India too. Now a unique incident happened in the Legislative Assembly of Sindh province of Pakistan, which is being enjoyed a lot on social media.

In the Sindh Assembly of the Islamic country Pakistan, a Hindu member proposed to ban the sale of liquor. The entire House was filled with surprise after hearing the demand of the Hindu MLA. The Hindu MLA said in his argument that Muslims are prohibited from drinking alcohol in Pakistan, whereas the Hindu community drinks alcohol. But the Muslim-dominated assembly rejected his proposal to sell liquor.

This proposal was presented by Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) MLA Anil Kumar in the Sindh Assembly on 12 February 2026. His argument was that liquor licenses in Pakistan are mainly issued in the name of non-Muslims, especially Hindus. Due to this the Hindu community has to face defamation. They demanded cancellation of licenses and complete closure of all liquor shops in the entire province.

‘Today my friend you have become a little emotional’

There was strong opposition to Anil Kumar’s proposal in the House. On behalf of the government, Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hasan Lanzar said, “Sir, I oppose it.” He jokingly commented, “Today my friend, I have become a little emotional… a large section of the society will be deprived.” He said that a complete ban is not practical, it will affect many sections of the society.

Let us tell you, liquor is already sold in Pakistan under a controlled license system, which is mainly for non-Muslims and foreigners. Other Muslim MLAs also opposed the proposal. Ultimately voting took place in the House and this proposal was rejected by majority.
