The world’s most expensive cheese is made from donkey milk
Pule Paneer is considered to be the most expensive cheese in the world. This is because it takes a lot of hard work to make it. It is made from the milk of Balkan Donkey. Let us tell you that in making Pule cheese, 60% milk of Balkan donkey and 40% goat milk is used. Actually, there is less casein in donkey milk, due to which goat milk is used to make cheese.
These donkeys are endangered and are kept under special protection. It takes months to extract milk from these donkeys. According to the information revealed, these Balkan donkeys give milk only for six months and it takes at least a year to give milk again. To make one kg of cheese, 25 liters of donkey milk is required. While these donkeys are not able to give even one liter of milk in a day, they hardly give only 500 ml of milk.
Only 50-60 kg of milk is produced annually in Serbia. This is the reason why this cheese is called the most expensive cheese in the world. Let us tell you that many nutrients are found in this milk. Protein, calcium and vitamin C are present in abundance in it. It is considered a good alternative to cow’s milk because it can be easily digested.
