Russia news: A shocking news of stabbing is coming in the hostel of Medical University of Russia. A 15 year old boy entered the hostel and attacked several people with a knife. Many people including 4 Indian students have been injured in the incident. The Indian Embassy has confirmed and described the incident as unfortunate.

The matter pertains to the hostel of the State Medical University located in Ufa, the capital of Bashkortostan. Here on Saturday (February 7) an incident of stabbing took place in the sports hall located inside the hostel of foreign students. According to local media reports, 8 people have been injured in the incident, which includes four Indian students. According to initial information, two policemen were also injured while trying to catch the attacker.

According to the Home Ministry, initial reports have revealed that a teenager entered the university hostel with a knife and attacked the students living there. During this, he injured many people by stabbing them. On receiving the information, police immediately reached the spot. The attacker refused to surrender before the police and while protesting, he also attacked them. Not only this, the suspect also injured himself by stabbing himself.

Officials said the suspect was taken into custody after the attack. At the same time, investigation into the matter was also started.

What did the Indian Embassy say on the incident?

The Indian Embassy in Russia has expressed grief over this incident. A post on

Russia’s Federal Health Ministry said four people injured in the attack were undergoing treatment, one of whom was said to be in critical condition. The attacker has been identified as a 15-year-old boy. He has also been admitted to the hospital and his condition is critical.

Regarding the incident, All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealing for the safety and protection of Indian medical students studying in Russia.

The letter reads, “On behalf of the All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA), we express our deep concern and anguish over the recent violent attack on four Indian medical students at Bashkir State Medical University, Russia. Such incidents not only endanger the lives and dignity of our students, but also create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among thousands of Indian medical students studying abroad. We humbly request the Government of India to take immediate diplomatic steps with the concerned authorities to stop the attacks. To provide justice to the lost students, strengthen security mechanisms and strengthen student support systems for Indian students studying abroad.”
