PM Modi Malaysia Visit: Today (February 8) is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Malaysia. He held delegation level talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur. Before this, PM Modi was formally welcomed with a guard of honour. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was also seen along with PM Modi at the program organized at Perdana Putra Building.

Many agreements signed between India and Malaysia

MoUs were exchanged between India and Malaysia in the presence of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the second day of PM Modi’s visit.

At the same time, in the meeting, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said, “We have established excellent relations. Thank you and your team for this. We have discussed some issues on which concerns are being expressed. I think our teams need to pay attention to them. We look forward to greater cooperation in all areas. This visit is also very important for me personally.”

PM Modi openly praised for the welcome

At the same time, in the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to Malaysia for the warm welcome. He said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you. The way you welcomed me and my delegation. You went beyond traditional customs and presented Malaysian life so beautifully in these few hours, the excellent way you organized everything… will always remain in our memories. For this I express my heartfelt and special thanks.”

In the meeting, he said that today our cooperation has deepened in every sector, from agriculture and manufacturing to clean energy and semiconductors. We are also important partners in skill development and capacity building. Our cooperation in the field of defense and security is also continuously strengthening. I once again congratulate you on your successful Chairmanship of ASEAN. We are confident that with Malaysia’s cooperation, our relations with ASEAN will become even deeper and broader. The real strength of our relations lies in our people-to-people ties. The approximately 3 million Malaysian citizens of Indian origin are a living bridge between our two countries.

Mentioned about meeting with Indian immigrants

PM Modi also mentioned his meeting with Indian expatriates on Saturday (February 7). He said that yesterday I got the opportunity to meet NRIs along with you people. It was a very special experience, and I saw the personal respect and affection that the Indian diaspora had for you. I felt proud.

The Prime Minister said that the support of friendly countries is important in our fight against terrorism. We strongly believe that the prosperity of India and Malaysia is interlinked. In this environment of global instability, it is essential for India and Malaysia, two maritime neighbours, to harness the full potential of their relations. The core message of my visit today is very clear: India wants to take our relations with Malaysia to a new level and expand cooperation in every possible area.

Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reached Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia on Saturday (February 7) for a two-day visit. He was given a grand welcome at the airport by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. PM Modi addressed the Indian community in Malaysia. This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third visit to Malaysia.
