US President Donald Trump gave a strange reason why Doug Burgum was made the US Interior Secretary. He clearly stated that he hired her because he found Burgum’s wife Katherine very beautiful and hot. Trump had seen the two riding a horse together in a video.
He said these things while signing an executive order in the Oval Office to combat drug addiction. Standing nearby were Burgum and his wife, Kathryn Burgum, who spoke about her addiction recovery during the event and supported the initiative.
‘It was Katherine Burgum who stood out’
As the event ended, Trump recounted how he first met the couple in a campaign-style video. He said it was Katherine Burgum who stood out. Pointing to him, Trump said, “I saw him riding horses in a video and I said, ‘Who’s that?’
Trump said that his aides then told who the couple were and that was enough to make an impression. The president said, “He explained it, and I said, ‘I’m going to hire him,’ because it’s wonderful to have someone like you.”
Trump praised Burgum’s resume, describing him as a successful businessman and a strong two-time governor of North Dakota, but he repeatedly noted the role he believed his wife played in his success.
“It’s a wonderful couple, a wonderful couple, and he’s a huge part of their great success. He’s a tremendously successful man, as you know, one of the most successful businessmen ever. I watched him campaign – great governor, two-term governor. He did a tremendous job – in North Dakota,” Trump said.
He added, “And they’ve done a great job, and I tell you, Katherine is a huge part of it. I see it. It’s one of the really great couples.”
