Iran Protests: ईरान में बढ़ते तनाव के बीच एक्शन में भारत सरकार, वहां फंसे भारतीय छात्रों को निकालने के लिए जल्द शुरू होगा ऑपरेशन

Iran Protest: In view of the worsening situation and increasing tension in Iran, the Indian government has taken a big decision to evacuate its citizens stranded there. The central government issued an urgent advisory on Thursday advising Indians to leave Iran. In this series, the first evacuation flight carrying Indians from Tehran to New Delhi will leave on Friday.

Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) issued a statement saying, “All students have been registered, their personal details and passports have been collected by the Indian Embassy and the first batch has been asked to be ready by 8 am.” It was told that first of all the students of Golestan University, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Tehran University of Medical Sciences will be brought back to India. Officials said that the final list of passengers will be released by late Thursday night. Earlier, the Indian Embassy had advised Indian citizens present in Iran to be cautious and leave the country.

Contact with Indian students in different areas

According to sources, in view of the changing situation in Iran, the Ministry of External Affairs is preparing for the return of those Indian citizens who want to come back to India. Government sources said the Indian Embassy in Tehran has started contacting Indian students in different areas to find out who wants to leave the country. However, this work is being done physically, as internet services are closed in many areas and phone lines are working intermittently.

‘For any help they should contact the Indian Embassy’

The advisory said, ‘All Indian nationals in Iran are requested to keep their travel and immigration documents, including passport and ID, handy with them. They are requested to contact the Indian Embassy for any help in this regard. It further said, ‘It is reiterated that all Indian citizens and PIOS should exercise utmost caution, avoid protest or demonstration sites, remain in touch with the Indian Embassy in Iran and keep an eye on local media for any developments.’ Earlier, amid the growing unrest in Iran, Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi had also called External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss the current situation.
