
Strong earthquake tremors have once again been felt in Japan. On Tuesday, the earth shook due to a strong earthquake in western Japan. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the earthquake registered a magnitude of 6.2, with its epicenter located in the eastern region of Shimane Prefecture. After feeling the tremors of the earthquake, scared people came out of their homes. At present no alert has been issued regarding tsunami.
The earthquake, with an initial magnitude of 6.2, struck Shimane Prefecture in northwestern Japan, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. The quake was also felt in Shimane’s capital, Matsue, and nearby cities, including some in neighboring Tottori Prefecture.

The JMA said the epicenter was at a depth of about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) underground and there was no immediate threat of a tsunami. There is currently no news of any injury or damage due to the earthquake felt on Tuesday. But after feeling the strong tremors, scared people came out of their homes.
Shimane Nuclear Power Plant safe
Chugoku Electric Power runs the Shimane Nuclear Power Station about 32 km (20 mi) away. Japan’s Nuclear Regulation Authority said no irregularities were found at the Shimane Nuclear Power Plant and the area.
Earthquakes are common in Japan. The country is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, one of the most earthquake-prone areas in the world.
