people’s anger
People’s anger erupted on social media regarding this incident. One user posted, “On Friday, December 26, the famous voice of Bangladeshi rock, James, was scheduled to play a 185th anniversary concert at Faridpur Zilla School. What was supposed to be a celebration turned into chaos when an extremist group attacked the venue, vandalized it and forced the event to be cancelled. James had a narrow escape. It was not just a concert that stopped; it was a celebration of culture, free thinking and It was a direct attack on artistic freedom. When artists have to flee to save their lives, it shows the serious failure of the government to protect art, culture and those who keep them alive. “
Another user said, “Today a violent mob attacked the concert of famous singer James in Faridpur. Later he immediately left the venue to save his life. The radicals are on a mission to make Bangladesh a failed country like Pakistan.”
