The US military has officially confirmed that it is using B-2 stealth bombers to attack an underground Iranian ballistic missile facility.
“Last night, US B-2 stealth bombers armed with 2,000-pound bombs struck an Iranian hard ballistic missile facility,” US Central Command said. Let us tell you that these bombers were also used in the US attacks on the Iranian nuclear facility in June.
Fighter jets dropped more than 2,000 bombs in 36 hours: IDF
According to the IDF, Israeli Air Force fighter jets have dropped more than 2,000 bombs in hundreds of strikes on Iranian government targets and military positions since the war with Iran began. This number of bombs in the first 36 hours of the war is almost half the number of bombs used by the IAF during the entire 12-day war in June 2025.
The Army says that during that period, IAF fighter jets have flown more than 700 sorties. The military said it regained the air advantage within 24 hours of the start of the operation, destroying several Iranian air defense systems in western Iran.
Planning for the attack had started in December
According to a US media report, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump began discussing the details of another strike on Iran during their meeting at the president’s Mar-a-Lago residence in late December. According to the report, Netanyahu began talks about a subsequent 12-day war on Iran in June 2025. The date of the attack was earlier fixed for May.
According to the report, the government’s strictness on the protesters changed Trump’s thinking. He almost ordered a strike on January 14, but instead began a major military preparation in the area. He also started planning a joint strike on Iran with Israel.
Trump also decided to negotiate with Iran if strike planning moved forward. Three American and Israeli officials said the talks were not a ploy to surprise the Iranians. After a second round of talks, Israel and the US agreed that the window of opportunity to attack would be on February 28, when Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would meet with his top aides.
Trump aides Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff attended Geneva talks with the Iranians last Thursday, days before that date, with the hope that a deal would be reached, but, according to reports, this was a necessary part of making sure Khamenei attended the meeting with his aides and did not hide in his bunker.
Trump gave signal for ceasefire
Amidst the attacks on Tehran, Trump has now said, “They want to talk and I have agreed to talk, so I will talk to them.” Trump further said, “They should have done this earlier. They should have given something that was very practical and easy. They were too late.” He did not comment on when the talks would take place.
‘America has sunk 9 Iranian ships’
US President Donald Trump has announced that America has sunk nine Iranian navy ships. “We are also attacking Iran’s remaining Navy ships. They will soon be floating at the bottom of the ocean,” he announced on Truth Social. He wrote, “In a separate attack, we largely destroyed their Navy Headquarters. Besides, their Navy is doing very well!”
