Bangladesh is burning due to the massacre of Hindus. The interim Yunus government there seems helpless in resolving this matter. In such a situation, following the footsteps of Asim Munir, Yunus also did the same thing which Pakistan has been doing for years.
Yunus police have claimed that the two main suspects in the murder of Bangladeshi political activist Sharif Usman Hadi fled to India through the Meghalaya border after the murder.
Addressing a press briefing at the DMP Media Centre, Additional Commissioner SN Nazrul Islam said the suspects, identified as Faisal Karim Masood and Alamgir Shaikh, entered India through Haluaghat Border in Mymensingh with the help of local associates.
The complete route map was also given after reaching India.
According to the police, after entering India, the two were initially received by a person named Purti, after which a taxi driver named Sami took them to Tura town in Meghalaya. Bangladeshi authorities received unofficial information that both Purti and Sami have been detained by Indian authorities, although official confirmation is awaited.
Additional Commissioner Nazrul Islam said the Bangladesh government is maintaining contact with Indian authorities through formal and informal channels to ensure the arrest and extradition of the suspects. He further said that so far 11 people have been arrested in this case.
Osman Hadi shot dead
Sharif Usman Hadi, convenor of Inquilab Manch, was one of the key figures behind the July 2024 uprising that led to the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government. On December 12, he was shot in the head by masked attackers in Dhaka. He was targeted while he was traveling in a battery-powered rickshaw on Box Culver Road. Two attackers riding a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi and fled from the spot.
Osman Hadi was flown to Singapore for treatment, however, he died six days later. He was scheduled to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections in Bangladesh in February.
Following his death, large-scale unrest and violence broke out across Bangladesh. The protesters vandalized the offices of Bangladeshi newspapers and even set one of them on fire. Amid the violence, a Hindu laborer named Dipu Chandra Das was beaten, hanged from a tree and burnt in Bhaluka.
