According to reports, it is believed to be a suicide bombing. The blast took place in Tarlai area of ​​Islamabad.

The blast occurred shortly after Friday prayers and initial reports said at least 80 people were injured, and more than 31 were killed.

Emergency was imposed in the hospital also

The blast took place in an Imambara in Tarlai area of ​​the Federal Capital. Police and Rescue 1122 personnel reached the incident site and started initial rescue operations.

According to the Pakistani newspaper, emergency has also been imposed in the Polyclinic of the Federal Capital, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), and CDA Hospital. On the instructions of the PIMS Executive Director (ED), emergency has been imposed in the hospital, a spokesperson confirmed to Dawn.

The spokesperson said that the main emergency, orthopedic, burn center and neurology departments have been activated. The injured are being shifted to PIMS and Polyclinic Hospital.

Let us tell you that this incident took place less than three months after the suicide blast that took place outside a District and Sessions Court building in the G-11 area of ​​Islamabad on November 11, 2025. Twelve people were killed and more than 30 were injured in that blast.

President and Prime Minister condemned the attack

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the families of those killed. Ordering a full investigation into the matter, Shehbaz Sharif said, “Those who are responsible for this should be identified and punished.”

President Zardari said, “Targeting innocent civilians is a crime against humanity. The country stands with the affected families in these difficult times.”
