Another Hindu was attacked by a mob in Bangladesh. Khokan Das, 50, was brutally beaten with sharp weapons, stabbed and then doused with petrol and set on fire. The horrific incident, which took place in Shariatpur district on December 31, is the latest in a string of attacks on minorities in the country.

According to reports, Khokan Das was going home by bus when the mob surrounded him, attacked him, beat him unconscious and tried to burn him alive. This is the fourth such attack on Hindus in Bangladesh alone in the last two weeks.

Brutality with Hindus earlier too

Talking about December 24, 29 year old Amrit Mandal was beaten to death by a mob in Hossandanga, Kalimohar Union. They brutally killed him.

Before that, on December 18, 25-year-old Dipu Chandra Das had to face horrific torture in Bhaluka Upazila, Mymensingh. A Muslim co-worker in his factory falsely accused him of blasphemy. The mob came, killed him, hanged his body from a tree and burnt it to ashes.

Continuation of attacks on minorities continues

Ever since Muhammad Yunus and his interim team took power, a series of attacks on minorities have been going on in Bangladesh, with Hindus suffering the most. People all over the world are angry, human rights organizations are protesting loudly.

India last week spoke out and condemned the continued hostility against Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, all. New Delhi says that it is keeping an eye on the situation in the neighboring country.

Bangladesh responded to the allegation

After this, the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh gave a strong reply and called India’s stand wrong, exaggerated and misleading. He claims that this is all a conspiracy to defame. The Ministry of External Affairs said that by exaggerating these isolated incidents, some groups are instigating common Indians against our embassies and places in India.

Exiled former PM Sheikh Hasina, targeting Yunus, said, “Dear countrymen, the masks and disgusting faces of the conspirators engaged in conspiracies to destroy the country have already been exposed in front of you. You have seen how the illegal occupiers, by holding you hostage, have pushed the country towards darkness in the intoxication of incalculable corruption, lies and fulfillment of their personal interests. Our beloved Bangladesh is in fear all over the world today. As a result, today no country looks at Bangladesh and its people with respect. We all have to come together to save the country from this journey towards darkness.
