Trump warns Iran: Rising inflation and anti-government protests in Iran are increasing day by day, posing a direct challenge to the authority of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. Large scale demonstrations are going on in more than 100 cities of the country. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has once again given a stern warning to Iran, saying that we will hit them where they will feel the most pain.
Protests have been going on in Iran for about 13 days. People are on the streets. Arson and sloganeering are taking place everywhere. Violent clashes also took place at many places. Internet has been disrupted across the country and telephone lines have been cut. The chair of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is in danger.
Trump is continuously threatening the Iranian government
Amidst the fire of rebellion spreading in Iran, threats are being issued continuously by US President Donald Trump. He is constantly warning the Iranian government that if it kills protesters, America can take action. Now Trump has once again warned Iran.
Trump said in a recent statement, “Iran is in big trouble. I think people are taking over some cities that no one even thought about. We are monitoring the situation very closely.”
‘We will deliver a severe blow only where…’
He said that I have said very clearly that if they start killing people like before, we will intervene. We will hit them hard where it hurts the most. This doesn’t mean sending troops on the ground, but rather hitting them where it hurts the most, so we don’t want that to happen.”
The US President further said, “What is happening in Iran is truly unbelievable. It is amazing to see. They have treated their people very badly and now they have to suffer the consequences of it, so let’s see what happens next.”
Regarding the protesters, Trump said, “I hope that the protesters in Iran will be safe because it is a very dangerous place right now and I say again to the Iranian leaders, you better not start shooting because we will start shooting too.”
Trump should pay attention to his country’s issues – Khamenei
Amidst these threats from Trump, on Friday, January 9, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced that the Islamic Republic will neither retreat nor tolerate actions taken by foreign powers. He said that anyone working for outside forces would be rejected by both the Iranian people and the Islamic system.
Taking aim at Trump, he also said that Washington has no moral right to comment on Iran’s internal affairs. Trump should focus on his country’s issues.
