Amidst the increasing tension between Iran and America, there have been reports of several explosions in Tehran province. Many videos are being circulated on local media and social media, in which black smoke is seen spreading into the sky after an explosion on a multi-storey building in Parand area of Tehran.
Iranian officials have described it as an arson incident and denied any external attack. The fire brigade has claimed to have the fire under control, but no casualties have been confirmed yet. Similarly, sounds of explosions were also heard in the hilly areas of Shiraz province, the reason for which is not clear. These incidents have happened at a time when the fear of war between Iran and America is increasing.
Meanwhile, satellite images have revealed rapid fortification of Iran’s important military and nuclear facilities. According to media reports, Iran has built a thick concrete shield over the new facility on a sensitive military site and covered it with soil to protect it from air attacks. The work took place at the Parchin Military Complex, located about 30 kilometers south-east of Tehran. This place is considered one of the most sensitive sites in Iran, where Western intelligence agencies have been suspecting nuclear related activities.
Analysis of satellite images shows that the building, which was damaged by an Israeli attack in October 2024, was rebuilt. Photographs from October 2025 showed the skeleton of the new structure, partially covered by December 2025, and completely hidden by concrete shields by February 2026.
Similarly, in Isfahan Nuclear Complex, the entry gates of the tunnels are being completely sealed with soil and concrete. The site is one of Iran’s uranium enrichment plants that was damaged by US attacks last year. Satellite images showed trucks and heavy machinery filling the area with soil, blocking all entrances. Repair and strengthening work is also going on at Natanz and other sites.
These preparations are taking place amid tensions with America and Israel. Recently, indirect talks were held in Geneva with the mediation of Oman, where Iran’s Foreign Minister reported progress, but the US side said that Iran was not following their “red lines”. Iran also conducted missile tests in the Strait of Hormuz, which is considered a sign of pressure on oil supplies.
Experts believe that Iran is not ignoring the possibility of war and is working rapidly to protect its important facilities from air attacks. Although Iran is calling these activities defense related, it is clear from the satellite images that Tehran is emphasizing on strong fortifications. The situation still remains tense.
