After the historic victory in Bangladesh elections, BNP leader Tariq Rahman gave his first message to the nation. In his first address to the nation, he said that Bangladesh is independent from today.
Let us tell you that Tariq Rehman is the son of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. He led the BNP from exile for many years. He returned to Bangladesh just before the 2026 elections. Under his leadership, BNP has registered a decisive victory in the elections.
In his maiden address to the nation, Tariq Rahman said, “This is the victory of Bangladesh. This is the victory of democracy. This is the victory of the people. From today, we are all free, and we have got back the real meaning of freedom and rights. I congratulate the people of Bangladesh for overcoming all the difficulties and paving the way for the establishment of democracy in the country. To ensure that no evil force can bring back dictatorship in the country and the country does not become a slave country, we must unite We will have to stay and support the wishes of the people.”
He further said, “In a democratic country and political system, political parties are the true example of democracy. If both the government and the opposition play responsible roles from their respective places, then democracy will definitely take the necessary form in the country. I appeal to all the democratic political parties participating in the elections that your thoughts and views are important for us in the process of building the country. Our past and opinions may be different, but in the interest of the country, we have to remain united. I firmly believe that the unity of the country is our collective strength, while division is our weakness.”
