अमेरिका-डेनमार्क खुद सुलझा लें, ग्रीनलैंड विवाद में रूस का कोई लेना देना नहीं; ट्रप के ‘हर हाल में हासिल’ वाले बयान पर पुतिन ने बताया सच

Russian President Vladimir Putin has completely kept Russia aside in the controversy erupting over US President Donald Trump’s insistence on buying or acquiring Greenland. In a televised statement during the National Security Council meeting on Wednesday night, Putin said that this issue is not Russia’s at all and he is confident that America and Denmark will resolve it through mutual talks.

In fact, Trump’s statement of acquiring Greenland ‘at all costs’ has become a cause of anger in Denmark. Greenland is an autonomous region of Denmark, located in the Arctic region and of global importance due to its strategic location and natural resources. This demand of Trump has not only angered Denmark but has also created uneasiness in other NATO member countries. Many NATO allies are calling this a move that weakens the unity of the alliance, as it may increase distrust among Western countries.

‘Russia has no worries’

At the National Security Council meeting, Putin bluntly said, “Whatever happens to Greenland is none of our business. I think they will resolve the matter themselves.” He rejected the scope for any interference, calling the issue completely separate from Russia’s interests. Putin’s stance reflects Russia’s foreign policy, which emphasizes maintaining distance from Western disputes.

Taunt on Denmark’s ‘cruel’ attitude

Putin also made a sharp attack on Denmark’s historical attitude towards Greenland. He said that Denmark has always treated Greenland like a colony and has adopted a harsh, even cruel, treatment of it. However, he stressed that the current dispute is separate from this and there is no need for anyone to interfere in it right now.

Lessons given by historical examples

To strengthen his statement, Putin referred to historical events. He reminded that in 1917, Denmark had sold the Virgin Islands to America. Similarly, in 1867, Russia transferred Alaska to the United States for a mere $7.2 million. With these examples, Putin indicated that such deals are not unusual in history.

Due to this demand of Trump, the tension in the Western camp is at its peak, but Russia has given a clear message that it considers this a bilateral matter between America and Denmark. Experts believe that Putin’s statement reflects Russia’s cautious strategy in global diplomacy.
