WEF Davos 2026: From the stage of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 held in Davos, Switzerland, US President Donald Trump once again reiterated the demand for America’s claim on Greenland. During this, Trump said that no country or group other than America can protect Greenland and talks should start immediately for this.
In his speech, Trump described America as the engine of the world economy. The US President said, “The USA is the economic engine of this planet. When America booms, the whole world booms. This has been history. When things go bad, you all go down with us.” Trump claimed that due to his policies there has been an unprecedented economic boom in America and the country is in a stronger position than before.
Trump also targeted China regarding green technology. He said that China is misleading the world in the name of green energy and wind farms there are set up just for show. According to Trump, this is just a way to influence other countries, whereas in reality China itself is not serious in this direction.
Told Denmark that he was ungrateful
Trump also made a scathing attack on Denmark in his speech. He said that during World War II, Denmark had lost to Germany in just six hours and could neither defend itself nor Greenland. According to Trump, at that time the US protected both Denmark and Greenland, but Greenland was later returned to Denmark. Now Denmark is ignoring America’s contribution, which is wrong.
Europe is not in the right direction: Trump
Trump also expressed concern over the current situation in Europe. He said that he likes Europe and wants European countries to progress, but at the moment Europe is not going in the right direction. According to Trump, large-scale migration has harmed Europe’s social and economic situation.
This WEF 2026 meeting is running from January 19 to January 23, and involves around 3,000 high-level participants from 130 countries. Global leaders, CEOs of big companies, policy-makers and representatives of international organizations are present in it. Trump will also hold bilateral meetings with many global leaders during this period.
